Integrated supply chain management

We have developed a unique operating model based on integrated supply chain management that exploits the synergies between technical process skills, operational management expertise, planning skills and commercial strength of our personnel.

In order to make this integrated process more effective, in January 2016 the subsidiary Saras Trading SA started operating in Geneva, which is one of the main international hubs for oil commodities trading, in close cooperation with the operational departments of the refinery. Thanks to the consolidated knowledge and sound reputation of the traders of the Saras Group traders, and thanks also to the large network of business operators to which Geneva gives access, it is much easier to seize the best opportunities offered by the market both for the purchase of crude oils and for the sale of finished products.

Supply Chain

Diversification of supply sources and markets

The geographical position in the centre of the Mediterranean, where oil routes converge, together with the technical characteristics of the refinery, which is capable of effectively processing different types of crude oils, including non-conventional ones, ensure great diversification of supply sources and of the markets where petroleum products can be sold, thus reducing the risks connected to any disruptive geopolitical events that typically affect the oil world. Our proactive and dynamic commercial approach, based on supply chain integration, allows us to take advantage of all market opportunities.

Operational and technological excellence

The size and complexity of the plant are the result of decades of continuous investment aimed at increasing capacity and efficiency and of constant attention to safety and respect for the environment. We are constantly engaged in an improvement process in the industrial, commercial and financial fields, as evidenced by the serveral projects intended to optimise performance and reduce costs. This commitment reflects a clear and stable strategic direction: remaining at all times one of the best and most efficient operators in the sector, pursuing operational and technological excellence. A key factor for achieving and maintaining this goal over time is the know-how of our personnel, developed in about 60 years of activity. It is our most valuable asset.
